Shunyu Yao is an AI researcher known for foundational work on language agents, including ReAct, Tree of Thoughts, Reflexion, and CoALA. He is the lead author of the original τ-bench. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Princeton University, where he was a member of the Princeton NLP group, and studied in the Yao Class at Tsinghua University.
